The Logitech G430 is perfect for someone who is looking for a simple and affordable headset but is unwilling to compromise on performance and comfort. But fear not, the mic will pick up your speech quite clearly, and the quality is sufficient for online play, skype calls, et all. My only complaint against the G430 is the massive audio leakage, but if you play in isolation, then that shouldn't be too much of a problem.Īs for the mic, it might feel odd at first as it sits at a distance from your mouth, and there isn't much flexibility in terms of positioning either. On the PS4, however, the effect was less achieved but that could be blamed on the console's lowly powered USB ports that doesn't provide the headphones enough juice. Battery performance like this isn’t the very best you can find in a gaming headset, but it’s not far off. At a consistent output of 75dB (SPL), the G435 lasted 24 hours, 15 minutes on a single charge. The G430 performs admirably on the PC, with crisp and clear audio quality, strong bass, and excellent sound positioning. Logitech claims the Logitech G435 battery can last 18 hours on a single charge, but in our testing, we found it well exceeds that. You can use the headset using the good ol' 3.5mm audio and mic jacks, or connect it via the included USB adapter if you prefer to use it that way (also makes it work with modern consoles). Instead of dotting the earcups with buttons and knobs, all of that is tucked under a light in-line control panel that allows you to change the volume and turn on the mic on and off. The G430 keeps it simple in terms of controls as well. It's also light with minimum clamp force, so it's never too heavy on the head. In terms of comfort, the G430 fairs well during long sessions as the "sports performance cloth" around the earcups keeps things breathable around the ears.
